GLITTER AWARD

PLAINFIELD ANIMAL HOSPITAL
WINS GLITTER AWARD

The Plainfield Animal Hospital on Park Avenue has received the South Plainfield
Clean Business Association’s Glitter Award.  CBA President Joseph Diegnan and Clean
Communities Coordinator Alice Tempel presented the award to Dr. Scott Linick and
Karen Linick in recognition of the outstanding new veterinary facility, which opened in
June 2005.

Dr. Linick explained that the practice, which was founded in 1952, was outgrowing the old building.  The waiting line of people and pets sometimes went out the front door.
Now there are seven veterinarians on staff and they are open seven days a week.  The spacious new hospital was designed by Bob Longo of Cornerstone Architects, a borough firm.  Dr. Linick said he was looking for the “Wow!” factor, and that has certainly been achieved.  The landscaping maintenance is handled by Silver Creek Landscaping, also a South Plainfield business.

Dr. Linick said that their location near fast food restaurants and convenience stores does result in a litter problem, but they stay on top of it.  Every morning a custodian polices the grounds to collect any debris.  He feels it is important to keep the property well-kept.
There is even a dog-walking area with a pooper scooper station, equipped with Pooch
Patrol Pouches for the convenience of the clients.

Dr. Linick and Karen Linick have lived in South Plainfield since 1987.  They are
involved in many aspects of Borough life.  He said he feels honored to receive the Glitter Award.
He is very proud of the community, and wants to do his part to keep it clean and beautiful.
He hopes everyone will work to keep South Plainfield the great community it is.

The Clean Business Association gives Glitter Awards to South Plainfield businesses that are unusually well-maintained or have recently improved their appearance through renovation or landscaping.  Membership in the CBA is open to all businesses that share its goal of enhancing the appearance of commercial districts through property maintenance and litter control.  For more information, contact the Clean Communities Coordinator at 908.226.7621.
