Parade will be
held on Monday, September 1st, 2008. There
is no rain date. The Parade will begin on
Plainfield Avenue
at the South
Plainfield Middle School in the Middle School Parking lot.
Floats can be no
taller than eleven (11) feet above the street level.
All units are
required to follow the entire line of march to be eligible for an award.
All entrants must
plan on being in the parade until 1:00 pm.
Parade must keep
moving at all times.
Drills &
performances will be permitted ONLY in front of the reviewing stand at the PAL building.
Each
organizations performance is limited to only three minutes including set-up and
break down.
Cooperation of
participating units with all parade officials, as well as adherence to these parade rules,
will be
used by the judges in any consideration for any award.
Failure to comply with any of these rules will result in
disqualification and my affect the entrants involvement in future parades.
Trophies will be
awarded at the PAL building approximately one (1) hour following the end of the parade.
Trophy to be awarded to entry as name appears on application.
For
the safety and enjoyment of the spectators, no entry will be allowed to campaign for any
candidate,
organization or issue handouts, direct promotions, signs or solicitation either from
within the line of
march or along the route. Also, the throwing
or other distribution of any material (candy, balloons,
literature, etc.) from floats and/or participation units along the parade route is
prohibited.
All entrants must
have a complete list of names of all participants in their units.
All floats must
have at least 4 spotters (2 on each side) along the parade route.
Parade entrants
are responsible for all vehicles connected with the entry and are responsible for any
person
marching with their entry.
No support
vehicles will be allowed in the line of march. Buses,
vans, station wagons, etc., will be directed to a
meeting area at the end of the parade route.
Location in the
line of march will be given to each entrant as they arrive on Labor Day. A Marshall will be
located at Plainfield Avenue and at the South Plainfield Middle School and will direct
each participant to there
proper location.
No Alcoholic
Beverages will be permitted in the parade. Any
entry found with any alcoholic beverages will be
removed from the parade immediately.
