FREE TAX PREPARATION

FOR SENIORS

WITH LOW AND MIDDLE INCOME and   SPECIAL ATTENTION
TO THOSE AGE 60 AND OLDER.

All South Plainfield Seniors interested in assistance in having their tax forms prepared for mailing by April 15th should come to the Senior Center, 90 Maple Avenue, South Plainfield on Monday and Thursday mornings
9:00 am to 12:00noon.      February 11 - April 14, 2008

Please bring all information that would be required to complete the forms, i.e.
Current year's tax forms and preparation booklet.
A copy of last year's income tax return(s) W-2 forms from each employer.
Unemployment compensation statements.
SSA-1099 form, if you were paid Social Security benefits.
All 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV. 1099-B, etc.) showing interest
and/or dividends and documentation showing original purchase price
of sold assets.
1099-misc. showing any miscellaneous income.
1099-R form if you received a pension or annuity.
All forms indicating federal income tax paid.
Dependant care provider information (name, employer, ID, Social
Security number).
All receipts or canceled checks if itemizing deductions.
Social Security cards or other official documentation for yourself
and all dependents.
A copy of  last year's property tax bill or green post card giving the total real estate taxes paid in 2007.

Information will be available for help with other senior benefit forms such as PAAD, PTR, Homestead Rebate, NJ Savers and Property Tax Deduction/Credit

This service is an AARP Tax-Aid Program and trained and certified volunteers will prepare your returns. There are no appointments needed.  Assistance will be given on a first come-first serve basis.
