Tuesday March 15th Sri Discount Liquors hosted a Wine Tasting Networking Event at  their store in the Middlesex Mall. Italian specialties where supplied by their neighbor Cafe Bella Grotto. Thank you Angelo (Cafe Bella Grotto) and Srini (Sri Discount Liquors) for arranging a very tasteful evening. For those of you who missed it they are located next to the MVC. Stop by and tell them the SPBA sent you!

The first meeting of 2005 was arranged by Councilman Charles Butrico as an update on the Hamilton Boulevard Reconstruction Project. Rob Russo of CME Associates, the borough's engineers, went over the project and took questions from the 50+ local business representatives in attendance. Many thanks to Charlie, Rob and our new Police Chief John Ferraro for arranging and participating in this presentation.

Retireing after 26 years in Law enforcement our good friend and Police Chief Robert Merkler has taken a position with the  Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, working within its domestic preparedness unit. Bob has served as president of the Middlesex County Association of Chiefs of Police and was instrumental in creating South Plainfield's Monument Park. Since becoming chief in 2001 Bob has been a regular at our meetings and a good friend of the SPBA. It was with great pride that we awarded him an Honorary Membership at our Holiday Luncheon sponsored by our good friends John & Peter at Sherbans Diner. Best of luck Bob, you will be missed.

Thank you Bob Longo, Bob Barranger and Michael Soriano of Cornerstone Architectural Group, LLC for hosting an Evening of Networking October 20th, 2004 at their newly renovated offices located at the corner of Hamilton Boulevard and Church St. This event was well attended and catered to perfection. Great job guys. The office looks great and the food was wonderful.

Jack Pedersen thanks Veda Reddy of Palace of Jaipur for hosting a luncheon May 20th. SPBA members were joined by several guests from the Piscataway, Middlesex,So Plainfield Chamber of Commerce for some fine Indian food courtesy of our new members at Palace of Jaipur.

Ooops! We had so much fun when Joe Lobello hosted our April 21st Evening of Networking at Enterprise Rent a Car WE FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE! So you'll just have to trust us. We were there and everyone had a blast. Joe did a first class job with everything. The food and door prizes were great. Many thanks to Enterprise Rent a Car and Joe Lobello for a great evening.
