Elected Mayor in 2006, Charlie is 48 years old and
has lived in South Plainfield all his life. Prior to being elected Mayor he was elected as a councilman in
2001 and in 2004. He graduated from Rutgers University, with high honors, with a degree in Management and is currently employed by Computer Sciences Corporation as an Account Executive.

Charlie lives at 2021 Sims Place with his wife, Sherry and 3 daughters, Dana, Kristie and Michelle. He is a member of the South Plainfield Knights of Columbus and past member of the Producing Board of the South Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop   

He also coached his daughters in both t-ball and softball.

Elected Councilman in 2005. Rob is 25 years old and a life long resident of South Plainfield.  He attended Sacred Heart School, Wardlaw Hartridge School and graduated in 2004 from University of Scranton with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing. He is employed by Marpal Disposal, a division of Republic Services of NJ as an Account Executive.
 
Rob, son of April & Bob Bengivenga and his sister, Amy and her husband Mark, all reside in South Plainfield. He attends Sacred Heart Church.

Elected councilman in 2006, Joe is 41 years old
and has lived in South Plainfield for the past 12 years.  He attended Devry Technical Institute and continued his education at Middlesex County College. He has a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University and is a Certified Business Continuity Professional from the Disaster Recovery Institute.  Joe has worked at AT&T for 20 years and currently serves
as a Senior Project Manager.

Joe lives at 134 Lafayette Place with his wife, Sharon, and their 3 children, Alyssa 14, Rachel 12 and Jack 7. He is a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, is a Past Grand Knight of
the South Plainfield Knights of Columbus,   a member of the Public Celebrations Committee
and the CERT team.

Councilman Scrudato chairs the Economic Development Committee and serves on the Administration, Finance & Public Information and Public Safety Committees.

Elected Councilman in 2005, Matt is 35 years old and has lived in South Plainfield all his life.  He attended Sacred Heart School,  South Plainfield High School and graduated in 1990 from College of New Jersey with a Bachelors of Science in Economics.  He is a Vice President with a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company in Pennington NJ and NYC

Matt lives at 26 Hidden Court with his wife,  Kimberly, and their twin sons, Joseph and Harrison.  He is a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a member Hopewell Responsible Citizenship Committee and a member of the Public Celebrations Committee. He also is a member of a men's ice hockey team.

Councilman Anesh chairs the Public Works Committee and serves as a member of the Public Safety .

He is a lifetime member of the Historical Society, worked with the Environmental Commission, Habitat for Humanity, Edison Valley Playhouse.  Is and was member of the Cultural Arts Commission, UNICO National (The Plainfields Chapter) and the South Plainfield Business Association.

Elected Councilman 1997,2000, 2003 and again in 2006,   Ray is 51 years old and has lived in South Plainfield for the past 19 years. Ray graduated with honors from Devry Technical Institute, Majoring in Computer Technology and electronics. He is presently employed as a Computer Systems Administrator for the New Jersey State Department of Education in Trenton.
 
Ray lives at 181 Hudson Street. He has three children. Ray has also served on the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee from 1989 to 1997, Served as a volunteer for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for 16 years . Member of South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department and currently serves as secretary
 
Councilman Petronko currently is Chairman of the committee that oversees the Recreation Department and serves as a member of the Health, Welfare and Environment and Administration, Finance & Public Information. He is also Chairperson of the Senior Citizens Committee. Member of Public Celebrations Committee & HCDRG Committee

Appointed Councilwoman in 2007, after previously serving in 2004 and 2005, Kathy has lived in South Plainfield all her life.  She graduated with high honors from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.  She also attended Middlesex College and earned an A.A.S. in accounting.

Kathy lives at 220 Lowden Avenue with her
husband, Bill, also a life long resident, and their 2 daughters, Kelly 19 and Kara 16.  She is a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and
served as a member of the Sacred Heart Centennial Committee.  She is the founding member and president of the South Plainfield Public Library Foundation and is a member of the Historical Society, High School Athletic Boosters and PTA and the Field Hockey Association. Kathy was also a member of the Planning Board, Environmental Commission, Cultural Arts Committee and    Affordable Housing Commission as well as the Girl Scouts of Washington Rock.

Councilwoman Thomas chairs the committee that oversees Administration, Finance & Public Information.  She also serves as a member of the Public Works and Public Safety Committees.

Elected councilman in 1990, John is 48 years old and has lived in South Plainfield for 20 years. John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from City University, New York with a major in Computer Science/Math.
John and his wife, Maha have two children,
Matthew and Megan.  He is a parishioner of
Sacred Heart Church and is a member of the
Junior Baseball Club where he coached for the  5 years. John  served as Council President (1995-1997) and has served as acting Mayor. In addition, he was the chairperson of the Middlesex County Planning Board.
 
He  was elected in 1997, 2000 and again in 2003 and 2006 as a Freeholder on the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders

Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan is a life long
resident of South Plainfield.  He is a graduate of South Plainfield High School, where he was
inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University.  He is a past President of the Sacred Heart Parish Council. Patrick opened his
law office in South Plainfield in 1974 and was first appointed Borough Attorney in 1984.  He and his wife of 31 years, Anita, have two daughters,
Heather and Tara. 
Mr. Diegnan took his first oath of office as a
member of the New Jersey General Assembly in 2002. Speaker of the General Assembly, Joseph Roberts has appointed Mr. Diegnan to the position
of Parliamentarian for the New Jersey General Assembly.   He also serves as Chairman of the Committee on Higher Education, is a member of
the Education Committee and the Regulated Professions and Independent Authorities
Committee.
