Elected Mayor in 2006, Charlie is 50 years old and has lived in South Plainfield all his life. Prior to being elected Mayor he was elected as a councilman in 2001 and in 2004. He graduated from Rutgers University, with high honors, with a degree in Management and is currently employed by Computer Sciences Corporation as an Account Executive.

 

Charlie has three daughters, Dana, Kristie and Michelle. He is a member of the Business Advisory Group as well as the Planning Board.  He is also a member of the South Plainfield Knights of Columbus and past member of the Producing Board of the South Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop He also coached his daughters in both t-ball and softball.

Elected Councilman in 2005, 2009. Matt is 38 years old and has lived in
South Plainfield all his life.  He attended Sacred Heart School, South
Plainfield High School and graduated in 1995 from College of New Jersey
with a Bachelors of Science in Economics.  He is a Vice President with a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company in Pennington NJ and NYC.

 

Matt lives at 26 Hidden Court with his wife,  Kimberly, and their
twin sons, Joseph and Harrison.  He is a communicant of Sacred Heart
Church, a member Hopewell Responsible Citizenship Committee, South Plainfield Junior Baseball coach and a member of the Public Celebrations Committee. He also is a member of a men's ice hockey team.

Elected Councilman in 2005. Rob served his first three year term from 2006-2008.  Appointed as Council President in 2008 and elected in 2009
for a second three year term.  Rob is 27 years old and a life long resident of
South Plainfield.  He attended Sacred Heart School, Wardlaw Hartridge School and graduated in 2004 from University of Scranton with a Bachelors
of Science in Marketing. He is presently employed a a Division Sales Manager for Republic Services of NJ, D.B.A. Marpal Disposal,  
a Fortune 200 company in Tinton Falls, NJ.

Rob lives at 521 South Plainfield Avenue and is a member of the Sons of
the American Legion Chaumont Post 243, UNICO National and the Italian
American Club in South Plainfield.  He attends Sacred Heart Church.

Councilman Bengivenga chairs the Recreation Committee and serves on
the Administration, Finance & Public Information, Public Safety and
Shared Services Committee.

Tim is 38 years old and was raised in South Plainfield.  Tim attend South Plainfield elementary schools and graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1989.  He attended Citone Institute and received a certificate in Computer Repair Robotics.  He is presently employed as a System Administrator at Packeteer, Inc. which is located in South Plainfield.

 

Tim lives at 115 Eleanor Street  and is married to his childhood sweetheart, Gina, They have three children Sean 9, Caitlin 7 and Jillian 5.  Tim is a member of the Sons of the American Legion Chaumont Post 243 and has served as an assistant soccer coach for his son, Sean's team.

 

Councilman McConville chairs the Public Works Committee  and serves on  the Economic Development and Recreation

Elected councilman in 2007.  Ray is 55 years old and has lived in South Plainfield since 1998.

He is a graduate of Woodbridge High School and attended Middlesex County College. He has over 29 years of banking, investment and insurance experience and is presently employed as a Senior Personal Banking Representative
with Sovereign Bank.  He was previously employed by Wachovia Securities.

Ray lives at 1505 Field Avenue with his wife Robyn. Ray plays co-ed and men’s softball, coaches women’s softball and has participated in the South Plainfield Charity Softball Tournament 2002-2008.

Councilman Rusnak chairs the Administration, Finance & Public Information Committee and serves on the Public Works and Health, Welfare & Environment Committees.

Elected councilwoman in 2008.  Chrissy is 27 years old
and has lived in South Plainfield her whole life.

Chrissy served as a Raimondo Fellow at Eagleton
Institute of Politics.  She holds an MPA from the school of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University-Newark and a BA from Rowan University.

Chrissy is employed by the Capital Impact Group as a
Public Affairs Associate.

She is a member of the Public Celebrations Committee
and a former commissioner on the South Plainfield
Recreation Commission.  Chrissy is also a former fellow
in Leadership New Jersey, one of the most prestigious
leadership development programs in the State and
President of the Middlesex County Women's  Political
Caucus.

Councilwoman Buteas chairs the Health, Welfare & Environment Committee and serves on the Public Safety and Economic Development Committees.

Elected councilman in 2008. Franky is 25 years old and
is a life long resident of South Plainfield.  Upon graduation from
South Plainfield High School in 2002, Franky enlisted in the United States Navy and was deployed to Iraq where he served for over one year. 

Franky graduated with honors from the Union County
Electrical Program in 2007.  He is currently employed by
WSL Services as an electrician apprentice.

Franky lives at 240 Geary Drive with his parents, April and John Salerno.  He attends Sacred Heart Church and became a member
of the Planning Board in 2006. 
Franky is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and
the Italian American Club.  He is also very involved with
the development of youth programs.  He coaches the
South Plainfield  Eagles Football team and also started
the Franky Salerno Scholarship program which raises
money for children who need additional funds to
further their education.

Councilman Salerno chairs the Economic Development
Committee and serves on Recreation and Public Works
Committees.

Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan is a life long
resident of South Plainfield.  He is a graduate of South Plainfield
High School, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University.  He is a past President of the Sacred Heart Parish Council.

Patrick opened his law office in South Plainfield in 1974
and was first appointed Borough Attorney in 1984.  He and his wife of 33 years, Anita, have two daughters, Heather and Tara. 
Mr. Diegnan took his first oath of office as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly in 2002. Speaker of the General Assembly, Joseph Roberts has appointed Mr. Diegnan to the position of Parliamentarian for the New Jersey General Assembly.   He also serves as Chairman of the Committee on Higher Education, is a member of the Education Committee and the Regulated Professions and Independent Authorities Committee.
