7.   ORDINANCES – Final Adoption

     #1822 entitled:  an ordinance confirming and authorizing the sale of surplus property pursuant to the terms and conditions of Public Auction held by the Borough of South Plainfield.

8.   ORDINANCES – Introduction

     #1823 entitled:  An ordinance authorizing the Borough of South Plainfield to accept a recreation easement from the South Plainfield Police Athletic League, Inc. in connection with the grant from the County of Middlesex for the purchase and installation of a multi-purpose turf field and related improvements on the property identified as Lot 1 in Block 204 in the Borough of South Plainfield, county of Middlesex, State of New Jersey.

     # 1824 entitled:  A bond ordinance providing for improvements to various roads in and by the Borough of South Plainfield, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey, appropriating $420,000 therefor and authorizing the issuance of $399,000 bonds or notes of the Borough to finance part of the cost thereof.

     #1825 entitled:  An ordinance appropriating $1,500,000.00 for the installation of a synthetic grass field, fencing, play structure and other improvements on the field at the rear of the PAL building in the Borough of South Plainfield, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey

9. RESOLUTIONS      

#08-164:   Authorization is hereby granted to hire Bill Wilkins of 1650 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 as a part-time Building Inspector at a rate of $25.00 per hour for up to 19.5 hours per week, benefits excluded.                 

#08-165   Authorize the Mayor and Municipal Clerk to execute and the Borough Engineer to process the 2008 NJDOT Grant for improvements to New Market Avenue

#08-166:  The Chief Financial Officer to issue a refund check in the amount of $50.00 to Lisa Dwyer of 317 Skene Dr., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 for her joining the pool after paying the non-member swim lesson rate.

#08-167:   The Chief Financial Officer is hereby authorized to issue a check in the amount of $1386.94 to Paul R. and Tonya P. Wilson, of 127 Mildred Street, South Plainfield, NJ 07080,, also known as Block 120, Lot 7 for overpayment of taxes.

#08-168    Authorize the waiving of municipal fees excluding electrical fees applicable to the Cole Brothers Circus, June 14 and 15, 2008 which is being held for the benefit of the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Dept and South Plainfield Rescue Squad

#08-169:    Rescind resolution # 08-157  which authorized T&M Associates to perform engineering services associated with the implementation of a Curb Restoration Program, to include the streets of Nunnink Lane, Bleecker Street, and Houston Street

#08-170:   Authorize the hiring of Victoria Kiczula to the position of Police Records Clerk for the South Plainfield Borough Police Department effective June 23, 2008 at an annual salary of $29,162.00

#08-171:   Approve participation with the State of New Jersey in the Safe and Secure Communities Program administered by the Division of Criminal Justice, Department of Law and Public Safety

#08-172:   Authorize appropriation transfers in the amount of $200,000 for the Current Fund in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:4-58

#08-173:    Authorize the Municipal Clerk to issue 2008-2009 liquor licenses to Licensees that have met all State and Borough requirements and have paid all appropriate fees

#08-174:   Authorize the waiving of municipal fees excluding electrical fees applicable to for the Sout Plainfield Police Dept. to install a separate air conditioning unit in the Detective Division Forensic Lab by HomeStar Services

#08-175:    Authorize the establishment of the Local Municipal Tax Rate for the Borough ofSouth Plainfield for Fiscal Year 2009

#08-176:   Authorize the purchase of approximately 1,000 tons of asphalt  at a cost not to exceed $47,000.00 under the Middlesex County Common Cents Cooperative Program, Bid # 06-96.

#08-177:   Authorize the rental of paving equipment from Stilo Escavating, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $20,575.00 to be encumbered from account #8-01-26-290-002-235

#08-178:   Approve a Ch. 159 Budget Amendment to include a $3,139.63 grant from the NJ DEP for the 2008 Clean Communities Grant

#08-179:   Authorize the waiving of municipal fees excluding electrical fees applicable to the South Plainfield Knights of Columbus Trivia Night at the PAL, May 31, 2008.

#08-180:    Approve block party for Mary DeLair for Friday, July 4, 2008 on East Crescent Ave from Woodland to Oxford Ave.

#08-181:    Authorize T&M Associates to perform engineering services associated with curb restoration and ADA handicapped accessible ramps on Geary Drive, Houston Street, Bleeker Street Nunnick Lane as well as ADA approved handicap accessible ramps on Sampton Avenue and Franklin Avenue.   The cost of said services shall not exceed $

#08-182:    Approve block party for Nancy Cahn, G& W Laboratories for Friday, June 27, 2008 from 11:00am to 3:30pm  on Helen Street from  Coolidge Street to Dead End.

#08-185:   Amend Resolution 08-148 thereby revising the effective date of employment for Janine Calvy to June 23, 2008

#08-186:   Authorize the Municipal Clerk to solicit bids for the following contracted projects:  Street Sweeping and Cleaning, Bulky Waste Collection Service, and Crossing Guards for 2008-2009 School Year.

#08-187:   Authorize a Capital Budget Amendment in the amount $420,000.00 to be utilized for curb restoration, handicap access ramps, and other improvements on various borough roads.

#08-188:    Approve block party for Celadawn Reid on July 19, 2008 from 10:00am to 8:00pm to be held on Dey Street from Trinity Street to the end of Dey St.

#08-189:    Approve block party for Debra Anne Leporino on August 2, 2008 from 2:00pm to 10:00pm to be held on Oak Manor Pkwy from Park Ave to Joan Street.

#08-190:    Authorize the abandonment of the New Market Extension Project

#08-191:    Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a refund check in the amount of $104.00 to J.T.Penyak for overpayment of a permit fee, Permit # 080467 for 115 Wood St, South   Plainfield
