1.      ORDINANCES – Public Hearing and Final Adoption

#1826 entitled:  an ordinance amending Chapter 146 entitled “Peddling and Soliciting (Ordinance#0008), as supplemented and amended, of the code of the Borough of South Plainfield”

#1827 entitled:  A Bond Ordinance amending bond ordinances numbered 1815 and 1816 of the Borough of South Plainfield, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey both finally adopted April 4, 2008 in order to amend the descriptions of the projects, reduce appropriations and authorizations and increase the section 20 costs and providing for various new capital improvements, appropriating $385,000 therefor and authorizing the issuance of $248,250 bonds or notes of the borough. $128,250 of the bonds are new borrowing and $120,000 is from Ordinances 1815 and 1816.

#1828 entitled: An ordinance amending ordinance no.1748, thereby modifying the weight restriction on a portion of Hamilton Boulevard within the Borough of   South Plainfield.

# 1829 entitled:  an ordinance repealing ordinance no. 1749, thereby eliminating the weight restriction on the entire length of Belmont Avenue within the Borough of South Plainfield.

9. RESOLUTIONS

#08-189A    Approve a date change for the Leporino / Oak Manor Parkway block party
                from August 2 to August 16, 2008.

#08-217     Authorize a street sweeping contract between the Borough of South Plainfield                   and Stilo Excavating, Inc. for the period July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009
                at a cost not to exceed $40,985.00.

#08-218      Approve the waiver of the Fire Permit Fee for the South Plainfield Summer                    Drama Workshop that will be held July 31, August 1, 2 and 3, 2008 at
                 the South Plainfield High School Auditorium.

#08-219      Approve mandate that the National Incident Management System (NIMS) be                    utilized for all incident management in the
                 Borough of South Plainfield      

#08-220      Accept the resignation of Thomas Crino as a member of the Zoning Board of                    Adjustment, effective immediately.

#08-221     Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a check in the amount of 
                 $3,636.26 for overpayment of taxes on Block 284, Lot 18

#08-222     Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a check in the amount of
                 $1,673.51 for overpayment of taxes on Block 416, Lot 5

#08-223      Appoint Gino Leonardis to fill the unexpired term of Thomas Crino as a
                 member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment, said term to expire
                 on 12/31/2011.

#08-224      Approve County request to expand the scope of the Inter-Local Agreement                    between the Borough of South Plainfield and Middlesex County for
                 improvements to New Durham Road and Corporate Blvd

#08-225      Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a refund check in the
                 amount of $3,975.00 to Lordina Builders, Inc. for return of the Bid Bond
                 on renovations to the PAL kitchen.

#08-226     Authorize amendments to the FY2009 Temporary Budget – Total Appropriations                    Inside “CAPS” in the amount of $558,000.00, Total operations Outside
                 CAPS in the amount of $20,777 and Total Pool Utility in the
                 amount of $85,000.00.

#08-227     Approve a block party for Jack Pedersen for Saturday, July 19, 2008 on
                 Perth Place
from Hillside to Duffy, from Noon to 10pm.

#08-228      Approve hiring of Daniel Painter as a probationary Part Time Emergency                  Telecommunications Operator effective July 15, 2008 at a salary
                 commensurate with the
current salary ordinance,
                 benefits excluded.

#08-229      Award contract to successful bidder for curb restoration and ADA
                 handicap access ramps

#08-230     Authorize a request of the Middlesex County Board of Chosen
                 Freeholders and the Middlesex County Open Space Advisory Committee
                 to dedicate funds from the Middlesex County Open Space Trust Fund for
                 the purchase of Block 354, Lot 13 on Belmont Ave for permanently
                 preserved open space

#08-231      Oppose the Solid Waste Plan Amendment Application of South Plainfield                  Transfer & Recycling Corp. to increase the their current permitted capacity
                 from 250 tons to 750 tons per day and forward copies to Middlesex
                 County Solid Waste Advisory Commission.

#08-232      Award service contract to successful bidder for 2008-2009 Crossing
                 Guard Service

#08-233      Appoint Patricia DeSantis as a member of the Public Celebrations Committee.

#08-234      Appoint Christopher Cioffi to fill a vacancy on the Environmental
                 Commission, said term to expire 12/31/09.
