#1713A entitled: An ordinance amending ordinance #1713 entitled “Acquisition of various capital improvements” to reallocate $24,946 in unspent funds and appropriate an additional $24,554 in capital improvement funding for the purchase an installation of a new phone communications system for the borough municipal building located in the Borough of South Plainfield, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey

#1820 entitled: An ordinance amending ordinance 1461 entitled: “an ordinance to amend chapter 187 of the code of the Borough of South Plainfield” thereby prohibiting off street parking in the front yard setback except in specific designated areas as assessing applicable fines.

#1821 entitled: An ordinance providing for the exchange of property between the Borough of South Plainfield and Barbara Vinch pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:12-16 said property being located on Union Street and both properties being of equal value.

#1833 entitled:  A Bond Ordinance providing for various Capital Improvements   of the Borough of South Plainfield, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey, appropriating the Aggregate amount of $212,000 therefor and authorizing the issuance of $199,000 in bonds or notes of the Borough to finance part of the cost thereof.

ORDINANCES – Introduction

#1834 entitled:  An ordinance to amend Ordinance 1654 entitled “An Ordinance Revising Ordinance No. 1365, Entitled “An Ordinance Implementing The Uniform Fire Safety Act P.L. 1983. C.383, in The Borough Of South Plainfield, Middlesex County, New Jersey”, specifically, Attachment A – Fees.

·         RESOLUTIONS

#08-281            Authorize amendments to the FY2009 Temporary Budget

#08-282           Authorize FY2008 Budget transfers in the amount of $80,000 in
       accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:4-58

#08-283            Authorize a Capital Budget Amendment in the amount $24,554.00 to be

                       utilized for  the purchase and installation of a new phone

       communications  system for the borough municipal building

#08-284            Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a check in the amount of

                       $17,748.58 to Wolf, Block & Somnath Hospitality, LLC for Block 535,

                        Lot1.02 also know as 2989 Hamilton Blvd, South Plainfield, NJ   07080

#08-285            Appoint Keith Horvath of 205 Pomponio Avenue as a part time

                       Recycling Program groundskeeper effective September 22, 2008 at a

                       Wage commensurate with current salary ordinance.

#08-286            Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a refund check in the

                       amount of $83.00 to Brinks Home Security for cancellation of permit

#08-287            Appoint Michael DiMeglia to fill the unexpired term of Gino Leonardis

                       as the Alternate II member to the Zoning Board of Adjustment,

                       effective September 22, 2008, said term to expire December 31, 2009

#08-288            Authorize the Acting Municipal Clerk to read the FY2009 Budget by

                       title only as provided by N.J.S.A. 40A:4-8

#08-289           Authorize cancellation of a performance bond balance on Block 7, Lot 39

#08-290            Authorize a Service Agreement between the Borough of South

                       Plainfield and Michael Grennier to provide professional support for

                       computer related services to the Borough’s IT Department.

#08-291           Reconfirm Gary Toth as Municipal Tax Assessor

#08-292                Engineer for BPT Expressway project - Tabled

#08-293           Authorize the Mayor and Acting Municipal Clerk to execute a Contract with

                       Lucas Construction, the successful bidder for the Linden Avenue/East

                       Hendricks Blvd. Project, at a cost not to exceed $261,059.50

       (subject to Attorney Review)

#08-294           Approve participation by the volunteer firefighters and emergency medical

                      volunteers in the state’s Volunteer Tuition Credit Program at no cost

                       to the borough.
