8. ORDINANCE – Public Hearing and Final Adoption   

     #1696 - A Capital Ordinance appropriating $215,213.00 for the acquisition of capital improvements

                        more specifically for the Helen Street Scoping Project in the Borough of South Plainfield. 

9. ORDINANCE – Introduction

     #1697 - An Ordinance prohibiting left hand turns into and out of the Durham Plaza Mall located

                        on Durham Avenue in the Borough of South Plainfield.

     #1698 – An Ordinance providing for the sale of municipal land known as Block 6, Lot 8.01 in the

                         Borough of South Plainfield, New Jersey to Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Sikanowicz in the

                         amount of $40,000.00.

     #1699 - An Ordinance granting Renewal of Municipal Consent to Comcast of Plainfield, LLC., to

                         construct, connect, operate and maintain a cable television and communications system

                         in the Borough of South Plainfield, Middlesex County, New Jersey.  

     #1700 -  An Ordinance appropriating $384,032.69 for the acquisition of Capital improvements as

                         listed below for the Borough of South Plainfield, County of Middlesex, State of New

                         Jersey.

10. RESOLUTIONS

     #133 – Authorize the release of performance bond posted for improvements posted by Greystone

                        Paving (for the US Post Office) for public improvements made at Block 254, Lot 47, 48,

                       & 49 (112-114 Oak Tree Avenue).

     #134 – Accept the resignation of Dawn Hunterton, Secretary Board/Commission effective

                        April 29, 2005.

     #135 – Authorize a “Professional Services” contract with Lynch/Martin Law Firm to represent

                       the Borough in a matter of litigation at a cost not to exceed $5,000.00.

     #136 - Employ seasonal workforce for the Department of Public Works for the period May 16, 2005

                       through September 5, 2005.

     #137 – Employ seasonal workforce at the South Plainfield Swimming Pool Utility for the period May    

                         1, 2005 through September 6, 2005.  Rates of pay vary based on position and are in

                         accordance with the current salary ordinance.

     #138 – Employ seasonal workforce for the Summer Parks Program for the period June 27, 2005

                         through August 5, 2005.  Rates of pay vary based on position and are in accordance with

                         the current salary ordinance.

     #139 – Authorize to purchase a service contract with Laserspeed, Inc., for fourteen (14) laser

printers located at Borough Hall and the Police Department for the period of April 8, through April 7, 2006 at a cost not to exceed $2,490.00.

     #140 – Accept the Corrective Action Plan as submitted by the Chief Financial Officer, for the fiscal

                        year ended June 30, 2004.

     #141 – Authorize the hiring of Danielle Utter to the position of Secretary Boards/Commission for

                        Planning/Zoning Department effective May 23, 2005 at an annual salary of $30,000.00.

     #142 – Authorize the entering into Executive Session for items approved by the Open Public

                        Meetings Act, P.L. 1975, Ch. 231.

     #143 - Authorize the rejection of all bids for the Durham Avenue Road Widening Project due to

                        excessive cost.

     #144 -  Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue refund check(s) in the amount of $3,719.36.

     #145 -  Authorize the Tax Collector to refund monies paid by the owner of Block 230, Lot 7 who has

                        qualified as a permanently disabled veteran.

     #146 -  Authorize the Tax Collector to refund monies paid by the owner of Block 397, Lot 2.03 who

has qualified as a permanently disabled veteran.

     #147 -  Authorize a capital budget amendment in the amount of $384,032.69 to be utilized for the

Maple Avenue Phase I Road Project, and Storm Sewer Improvements on various

roads.

     #148 -  Authorize appropriation transfers of the FY2005 Budget in the amount of $102,000.00 for the

                        Current Fund.  These transfers are done in accordance with N.J.S.A.  40A:4-58.

     #149 – Authorize a waiver for a Fire Permit application fee for Girl Scouts Troop #475 for an

                         event being held on May 13, 2005.
