7. ORDINANCE – Public Hearing and Final Adoption   

     #1701 – An Ordinance amending Ordinance #1623 establishing compensation of employees of the

                        Borough of South Plainfield for the years 2005 through 2008.

     #1702 – An Ordinance vacating a portion of Cedar Avenue in the Borough of South Plainfield,

                        Middlesex County, New Jersey.

     #1703 - An Ordinance appropriating $161,000.00 for the acquisition of capital improvements  

            specifically for the purchase of self contained breathing apparatus for the South Plainfield

            Volunteer Fire Department.

8. ORDINANCE – Introduction

     #1704 – An Ordinance amending Ch. 48 of the Code of the Borough of South Plainfield entitled:

               “Police Department” to include a charge for the use of police vehicles during off duty

                jobs.

     #1705 – An Ordinance establishing procedures regarding the placement, replacement or removal

                of public utility poles or underground facilities pursuant to New Jersey Law.

     #1706 - An Ordinance amending the parking ordinance of the Borough of South Plainfield to permit

                parking in front of private driveways under certain conditions.                 

9. RESOLUTIONS

     #169 – Authorize the release of performance bond posted for improvements by Our Lady of

Czestowchowa RC Church for public improvements made at Block 344, Lots 1, 2, 3

& 4 (120 Kosciusko Avenue).

     #170 – Authorize the release of performance bond posted for improvements by Luis Santos

for public improvements made at Block 379, Lot 6.02 (832 Spicer Avenue).

     #171 – Authorize a waiver for a Fire Permit application fee for Roosevelt School for an

                        event to be held on June 17, 2005.

     #172 – Authorize the Mayor and Municipal Clerk to execute the Contract of Sale for the purchase of 

                        Block 250 Lot 5 (3424 Park Avenue).

     #173 – Authorize the waiver of all permit fees, except electrical (if required), associated with the

                        construction of new signage at the Sacred Heart School, Church and Parish Center.

     #174 – Amend raffle license #527-04 which was previously issued to the American Legion

                        Chaumont Post #243 due to a date and time change.

     #175 – Authorize the establishment of the Local Municipal Tax Rate for the Borough of South

                        Plainfield for the Fiscal Year 2006.

     #176 – Authorize the Municipal Clerk to issue the 2005-2006 liquor license renewals to licensees

                        who have paid all required fees and have met all State and Borough requirements.

     #177 – Award a contract to Lucas Brothers for the road widening of Durham Avenue at a cost not

                        to exceed $365,748.00. The Borough received two (2) NJDOT Grants totaling

                        $170,000.00 to offset the cost of said project.

     #178 – Award a contract to Nimco Contracting Co. for the curb and sidewalk repairs along Maple

                        Avenue at a cost not to exceed $497,270.00. The Borough received a $200,000.00

                        NJDOT Grant to offset the cost of said project.

     #179 – Authorize a contract with Straight Edge Striping   to perform pavement markings on various

                        Borough roadways at a cost not to exceed $15,000.00.

     #180 – Appoint Glenn Cullen as an Alternate member of the Plainfield Area Regional Sewerage

                        Authority effective June 1, 2005.

     #181 – Issue raffle license for a 50/50 Off-Premise raffle to the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire

                        Company for October 8, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. in accordance with all Borough and

                        Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission regulations. All State fees have been

                        paid and all Borough fees have been waived.

     #182 – Authorize the renewal of the Crossing Guard contract with DMS Systems for the school year

                        2005-2006. This contract is being renewed in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-15.
