7. ORDINANCE – Public Hearing and Final Adoption   

     #1704 – An Ordinance amending Ch. 48 of the Code of the Borough of South Plainfield entitled:

                        “Police Department” to include a charge for the use of police vehicles during off duty

                        jobs.

     #1705 – An Ordinance establishing procedures regarding the placement, replacement or removal

                        of public utility poles or underground facilities pursuant to New Jersey Law.

8. RESOLUTIONS

     #179 – Authorize a contract with Straight Edge Striping  to perform pavement markings on various

                        Borough roadways at a cost not to exceed $15,000.00.

     #183 – Employ seasonal workforce at the South Plainfield Community Pool for the period May 1,

                        2005 through September 6, 2005. Rates of pay vary based on position and are in

                        conformance with the current salary ordinance.

     #184 – Employ seasonal workforce for the South Plainfield Summer Parks Program for the period

                        June 27, 2005 through August 5, 2005. Rates of pay vary based on position and are in

                        conformance with the current salary ordinance.

     #185 – Authorize the hiring of Brian Murtagh and Nicholas Pasquale as part-time recreation

                        attendants at a rate of $10.00 per hour effective June 20, 2005.

     #186 – Approve final payment to Stilo Excavating, Inc. for the sanitary sewer system repairs on

                        Murray Avenue and on Park Avenue and Oak Tree Avenue in the amount of $43,151.28.

     #187 – Authorize the promotion of Public Safety Telecommunicator Timothy Kelly to the position of

                        Acting Supervising Public Safety Telecommunicator effective June 1, 2005.

     #188 – Accept the Notice of Intent to Retire from Police Captain George Albertocki effective March

                        1, 2006.

     #189 – Authorize the purchase of six (6) treadmills to be utilized in the PAL weight room from Life

                        Fitness at a cost not to exceed $34,171.20.

     #190 – Accept the FY2004 Audit as prepared by the Borough Auditors, Hodulik & Morrison.

     #191 – Approve the Temporary Budget for FY2006 – Total General Appropriations in the amount of

                        $7,816,664.58; Total Sewer Utility Appropriations in the amount of $1,042,600.00 and

                        Total Pool Utility Appropriations in the amount of $93,112.00.

     $192 – Authorize the hiring of Nicholas Jefferys as a part-time groundskeeper at the compost center

                        effective June 18, 2005 at a rate of $9.76 per hour.

     #193 – Authorize the waiver of the fire permit fee for the Knights of Columbus #6203 for an event

                        which will be held on June 25, 2005.

     #194 – Authorize a “Professional Services” contract with PMK Group to perform a feasibility study

                        on the extension of New Market Avenue at a cost not to exceed $42,300.00.

     #195 – Authorize the Mayor and Municipal Clerk to execute the inter-local agreement with

                        Middlesex County for the repaving of three (3) borough roadways and for outfitting

                        Various Borough roadways with appropriate line striping.

     #196 – Authorize the Municipal Clerk to issue the 2005-2006 liquor license renewals to licensees

                        who have paid all required fees and have met all State and Borough requirements.

      #197 – Authorize appropriation transfers in the amount of $220,000 for the Current Fund; $10,000

for the Sewer Utility Fund and $20,000 for the Pool Utility Fund. These transfers are done in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:4-58.

     #198 – Authorize the renewals of the 2005 Wrecker Licenses for those applicants that have met all

                        Borough requirements per C. 184 of the Code of the Borough of South Plainfield.

     #199 – Appoint Council President Dennis Cerami as Acting Mayor for the period July 11 through

                        July 17, 2005.

     #200 – Authorize a contract with Top Line Construction for the repairs of the culvert, curbs and

                        sidewalks along Church Street at a cost not to exceed $170,158.00.
