7.   Public Hearing on waiver of Article 67-6 of the Code of the Borough of South Plainfield pertaining

      to allowable distance between liquor licenses. American Foods of South Plainfield, LLC

      is requesting said waiver and wishes to locate said license along a portion of Block

      528.01, Lot 46, Hadley Road

8.   PROCLAMATION – Halloween and Mischief Night

10. ORDINANCES – Public Hearing and Final Adoption

     #1713 – A capital ordinance appropriating $50,705.07 for the acquisition of capital improvements,

                more specifically for police forensic lab equipment and the police detective/juvenile

                building.  

11. ORDINANCES – Introduction

     #1714 – A capital ordinance appropriating $35,000.00 for the acquisition of capital improvements,

               more specifically for renovations to Borough Hall and Emergency Management buildings

               and landscaping at Putnam Park.

11. RESOLUTIONS

     #307 – Accept the resignation of Richard W. McCriskin as an Alternate I member of the Zoning

              Board of Adjustment effective October 1, 2005.

     #308 – Authorize the hiring of Brett Derewsky as a part-time fire inspector with the Bureau of Fire

              Prevention effective October 10, 2005 at a rate of $15.00 per hour.

     #309 – Authorize the hiring of Michael Pellegrino as a fire inspector HHS to fill in for Joseph

              Abbruzzese while the latter is on vacation. This hiring will be effective from October 5

              through October 26, 2005.

     #310 – Authorize the Chief financial Officer to issue refund check(s) in the amount of $1,087.77.

     #311 – Authorize the hiring of Michael Alvarez, Jr. as a part-time recreation attendant effective

              October 10, 2005 at a rate of $9.66 per hour.

     #312 – Authorize amendments to the FY2006 Temporary Budget – Total Appropriations Inside

                        “CAPS” in the amount of $170,000.00 and Total Sewer Utility in the amount of

                        $100,000.00.

     #313 – Accept the resignation of Acting Public Safety Telecommunications Supervisor Timothy

               Kelly effective immediately. Mr. Kelly will retain his permanent position as Public

               Safety Telecommunicator.

     #314 – Authorize the hiring of Darlene Marin as a part-time Public Safety Telecommunicator

               effective October 10, 2005 at a rate of $14.63 per hour.

     #315 – Issue an On-Premise 50/50 raffle license to Open Your Heart To Children Battling Cancer

                Foundation, Inc. on November 10, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in accordance

                with all Borough and Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission regulations. All

                State and Borough fees have been paid.

     #316 – Approve the person-to-person and place-to-place transfer of Liquor License #1222-33-013-

               001 from the Estate of Joseph B. Stavish, Sr. to American Foods of South Plainfield,

               LLC effective October 4, 2005.

     #317 – Authorize a Capital Budget Amendment in the amount of $35,000.00 for the acquisition of

              capital improvements more specifically for improvements to Borough Hall and

              Emergency Management Buildings and for landscaping at Putnam Park.

     #318 – Accept the resignation of Mildred Waldron as a member of the Recreation Commission

              effective October 10, 2005.

     #319 – Authorize the hiring of Bridget Nelson as a Police Records Clerk effective October 10, 2005

               at a salary in accordance with the existing salary ordinance.

     #320 – Approve the promotion of Public Safety Telecommunicator Keely Heyman to the position of

               Acting Supervising Public Safety Telecommunicator effective October 10, 2005.

     #321 – Authorize the hiring of Bob Scherr as a temporary part-time Fire Sub-Code Official for the

              period October 5 through October 25, 2005 at an hourly rate of $30.00 per hour. Mr.

              Scherr will work a maximum of 20 hours during his term of employment.
