7.   ORDINANCE – Introduction

 Ord. #1714A entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #1714 ENTITLED “ACQUISITION OF VARIOUS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS” TO REALLOCATE $15,495 IN UNSPENT FUNDS AND APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $4,500 FROM THE RECREATION TRUST FUND FOR THE EXTENSION AND INSTALLATION  OF STORM WATER PIPES, GRATES AND OVERALL IMPROVEMENTS AT BLOCK 249 LOT 80 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS COTTON STREET PARK LOCATED IN THE BOROUGH OF SOUTH PLAINFIELD, COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

8.  RESOLUTIONS

#105 – Hire William A. Staats III for the position of Laborer # 1 for Department of Public Works effective April 28, 2008 at a salary commensurate with the current salary ordinance.

#108 - Authorize the release of performance bond posted by Arch Chemical Depot for public improvements to Block 468, Lot 2 (Tyler Place).

#109 - Authorize the hiring of seasonal employees for the Public Works Department for the period May 1 through September 3, 2008 at salaries commensurate with the current salary   ordinance.

#110 - Authorize a Capital Budget Amendment in the amount $4,500.00 to be utilized for Cotton Street Park Improvements.

#111-  Approve the resignation of Probationary Part-Time 911 Telecommunications Operator  Mark Esposito of the South Plainfield Police Department effective April 7, 2008.

#112 - Authorize the renewal license for a limousine company for the year 2008 in accordance with Ch. 124 of the Code of the Borough of South Plainfield. The applicant have met all Borough requirements and all appropriate fees have been paid.

#113 - Approve a Ch. 159 Budget Amendment to include a $2,891.46 grant from the “Municipal Court Alcohol Education, Rehabilitation and Enforcement Fund”.

#114 - Authorize the release of performance bond posted by Michael Ciardiello for public improvements to Block 450, Lot 2 (Jersey Ave)

#115 – Award contract to Stilo Excavating Inc. for the installation of storm sewer lines and inlets as well as other improvements at Cotton Street Park at a cost not to exceed $19,725.

#116 – Waive waiting period on medical benefits for Police Officer Joseph Indano and permit benefits to commence on May 1, 2008

#117 – Appoint Gayle Curran to fill a vacancy South Plainfield Health Advisory Board

#118 – Authorize modification to parking and traffic pattern in the Veterans Park area from May 21 – 25, 2008 due to the New Jersey State Elks Carnival.

#119 - Authorize and direct Borough officials to take any and all actions necessary to request and obtain an updated title search and appraisal of the Property in furtherance of the acquisition of the Property.
