7. ORDINANCES – Public Hearing & Final Adoption

#1876 entitled:An ordinance appropriating $111,609.00 for the remedial investigation of

          Block 315, Lots 34, 42, and 43 and Block 316, Lot 1 ( Suburban Transit property)

          within the Borough of south Plainfield, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey

Note:  Ordinances 1877 and 1878 will have their public hearing on Monday, April 5, 2010

8.      ORDINANCES – Introduction

#1875 entitled: An ordinance authorizing fees for rental of the Senior Center and the

          adoption of policies and procedures.

#1879 entitled: An Ordinance vacating a portion of Anthony Avenue in the Borough of

          South Plainfield, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey

#1880 entitled: An Ordinance vacating a portion of Pulaski Street in the Borough of

          South Plainfield, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey

#1881 entitled: An Ordinance vacating a portion of Rio Street in the Borough of

          South Plainfield, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey

#1882 entitled: An Ordinance revising and amending Chapter 131, Alarm Systems, of the

          Code of the Borough of South Plainfield.

#1883 entitled: An Ordinance amending Chapter 157 of the Code of the Borough of South

          Plainfield entitled “Sewers”

#1884 entitled: An ordinance authorizing the sale of surplus land known as Block 273,

          Lots 4 & 5 at a public auction to be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 at

          7:00pm in the Council chambers of the South Plainfield Municipal building.

9. RESOLUTIONS

#10-068  Authorize T & M Associates to prepare the NJDEP Freshwater Wetlands

              General Permit application for the Franklin Ave/Tompkins Ave stream

              restoration project with the County Mosquito Extermination Commission

#10-069  Authorize an Inter-Local Agreement between the Borough of South

              Plainfield and the Middlesex County Mosquito Extermination Commission

              to provide stream restoration services for the Franklin Ave/Tompkins Ave

              area

#10-070  Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a tax refund to Hollywood Corp

             Block 389, Lot 2 ( 310 Hollywood Ave) for a tax judgement of $16,689.87 for

             tax year 2009 and $14,629.51 for tax year 2008.        

#10-071  Authorize the Chief Financial Officer to issue a tax refund to Jimmy T.

              Nguyen, Block 7; Lot 4 ( Foster Avenue ) in the amount of  $1,194.75 for

              overpayment of taxes

#10-072   Authorize the Mayor and Municipal Clerk to execute  a five (5) year

               contract for curbside recycling collection services with Republic Services of

               NJ, LLC, 11 Harmich Road, South Plainfield, NJ 07080, the successful

               lowest responsible bidder, at a total cost not to exceed $811,869.64.

#10-073   Authorize the modification in parking regulations on the streets surrounding

               Our Lady of Czestochowa for the 2009 Feast of St. Anthony Fair to be held

May 31, 2010June 5, 2010 as recommended by the Borough’s Traffic

Safety Officer.      

#10-074     Authorize the Municipal Clerk to advertise the sale of surplus property

known as Block 273, Lots 4 & 5  (2440 Plainfield Avenue )

#10-075    Appoint Marie Dudek to the Title of Municipal Housing Liaison at a stipend of

                $2,000.00.

#10-076    Appoint Dotty Paradiso to the title of Affordable Housing Trust Fund Report

                Preparer at a stipend of $2,000.00.

#10-077    Authorize the Mayor and Municipal Clerk to execute the renewal of a

                Professional Service Agreement between the Borough of South Plainfield

                and Vargo Rossi Web Designs, effective April 1, 2010 for a 12 month period

                at a cost not to exceed $7200.00.

#10-078    Authorize a Temporary Budget Amendment in the amount of $850,000 in the

                Current Account and $1,000,000 in the Sewer Utility Account

#10-079    Authorize the Mayor and Municipal Clerk to execute a Professional Service

                Agreement with Buttafucco, Arce & Price to represent the Borough on

                a grievance filed by PBA Local 100 at a cost not to exceed $3,000.00

10. RESOLUTIONS – Executive Session

     Exec #119- Authorize the entering into Executive Session in accordance with the

                     Open Public Meetings Act, P.L. 1975, Ch. 231 for the following item:
