8. ORDINANCES – Public Hearing and final Adoptionj

#1885 entitled:   An ordinance amending Chapter 327, Peddling and Soliciting, of the Code

  of the Borough of South Plainfield.

#1886 entitled:  An Ordinance designating the Traffic Control signal for the intersection of

  Stelton Road and Hadley Center Drive, of the Code of the Borough of

  South Plainfield

#1887 entitled:  A Refunding bond ordinance of the Borough of South Plainfield, in the

                  County of Middlesex, New Jersey providing for the funding of an

  emergency temporary appropriation to fund a portion of the accrued sick,

  vacation and related expenses arising from the unexpected retirement of

  several borough employees appropriating $800,000 therefor and

  authorizing the issuance of $800,000 refunding bonds or notes of the

  borough for financing the cost thereof

#1888 entitled:  An Ordinance to amend Chapter 247 of the Code of the Borough of South

  Plainfield, “Flood Damage Prevention” and thereby revise regulations

  designed to promote public health, safety and general welfare of its

  citizenry.

#1889 entitled:  An Ordinance amending Ordinance #1859 entitled: an Ordinance

                  providing for the compensation of Officers and employees of the Borough

                 of South Plainfield and the method of payment of such compensation for

  the years 2010 through 2011.

9. ORDINANCES:  Introduction

#1882 entitled: An Ordinance revising and amending Chapter 131, Alarm Systems, of the

 Code of the Borough of South Plainfield.

#1890 entitled: Bond Ordinance providing for various capital improvements of the

 Borough of South Plainfield, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey,

 appropriating the aggregate amount of $812,000 therefor and authorizing

 the issuance of $430,000 bonds or notes of the borough to finance part of

 the cost thereof.

10. RESOLUTIONS

#10-107          Authorize the appointment of Police Captain Paul Brembt to Acting Chief

of Police effective April 19, 2010 at his current Captain’s rate of pay

#10-108     Authorize a resolution supplementing Resolution #10-093, adopted on April

                5, 2010 establishing the form and other details of various refunding bonds

of the Borough of South Plainfield, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey

#10-109    Grant a liquor license renewal to Madhusudan LLC, License # 1222-33-016-007,

                d/b/a Palace of Jaipur for the 2008-2009 license year, in accordance with

                N.J.S.A. 33:1-12.18 

#10-110    Approve the installation of approximately 230 linear ft. of paver stone along

                Plainfield Avenue, Block 188, Lot 57 – La Costa Plaza, said pavers

                to be located in the public right of way and maintained by the property owner. 

#10-111    Award a contract to T&M for $95,000 for the total engineering services

               associated with the improvements on New Market Avenue.  The

               contract shall be contingent on final passage of Bond Ordinance No. 1890.

#10-112     Authorize a Capital Budget Amendment in the amount of $430,000 to

include the purchase of a Front End Loader for DPW at a cost not to exceed

$137,000 and improvements to New Market Avenue at a cost not to exceed

$675,000.  The cost of the New Market project is offset by a DOT Grant

totaling $365,000.

#10-113    Authorize a Temporary Budget Amendment in the amount of $1,235,000.00 in

               Current Account operations

 

#10-114     Hire Carmella Sutor to assist with the Rabies Clinic on 4/24/10, and to work

per diem from 8:00am to 1:00pm from 4/26/10 through 5/7/10 at an hourly

rate of $11.65.

#10-115    Authorize Suplee Clooney to provide accounting and professional services

in the event that the South Plainfield School Board Budget presented to the

voters on 4/20/10 is rejected.  The fee is not to exceed $7,000.00.

#10-116    Request the South Plainfield Library Board of Trustees to return ten percent of

its excess surplus to the Borough so the funds can be used for much-needed

tax relief

                      Open Public Meetings Act, P.L. 1975, Ch. 231 for the following item:
