SOUTH PLAINFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

A Law Enforcement Agency, consisting of 56 sworn Officers, 10 full-time 9-1-1 Telecommunication Operators, and 5 civilian support staff members and a social worker.

It is the goal of the Police Department to provide the highest quality law enforcement services to residents and visitors alike. We strive to respond to community concerns and continuously seek input from the community.

Department Profile

The South Plainfield Police Department has three separate Divisions, Operations, Service and Staff Services.

The Services Division is responsible for Records, Training, Community Oriented Policing, Purchasing, Planning, Research and Central Communications. It also directly supports the other Divisions in the Department,and is commanded by Captain Robert Barone

The Staff Services which is commanded by Captain James Parker is responsible for day
to day Patrol Operations and Traffic Safety.

The Operations Division commonly known as
the Detective Bureau is commanded by
Lt. Paul Wylam. This Division handles criminal investigations, internal affairs and media relations.
