The Staff Services Division is commanded by Captain Paul
Brembt and is responsible for the various functions that support the other
Divisions and the community. The five major sections that make up Staff Services are:
- Records
- The records section maintains all police reports, evidence, found property, purchase
orders, and handles all permit for the Police Department. For more information click here or call (908) 226-7670.
- Community Oriented Policing Section / D.A.R.E.
- The Community Oriented Policing Section (C.O.P.S.) section provides the D.A.R.E.,
Stranger Danger, Neighborhood watch, Crime tip information, Public speakers and Home

Special Problems Unit (SPU): Works on special problems and quality
of life issues that concern the residents
and businesses of South

- Training
- The Training section oversees all in-service training and, schedules training for new
hires and existing Officers at various Police Academy's. While the Borough of South
Plainfield is a Civil Service town, Training is responsible for recruiting. For more

- Communications
- The Communications section has highly trained 9-1-1 Communications Operators. These
Communications Specialists answer all in-coming emergency calls and dispatch the
appropriate the Police, Fire, Rescue Squad and/or Advance Life Support units to your call.
Our Communications Section handles an average of 37,000 calls a year. For more information
