Seeking Volunteers for Fall Litter Cleanup - September 9

The South Plainfield Clean Communities Advisory Board will sponsor a limited public lands cleanup on Saturday, September 9. New Market Avenue open space areas will be the target.

The cleanup will run from 10 – 12 noon. Gloves, trash bags, safety vests and other equipment will be provided. Volunteers can collect supplies at the Nature Reserve Conservation Area (the open field at the stream crossing between Highland Avenue and Elsie Avenue) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Parking will be on local side streets. There is limited parking on the field.

Long pants, closed shoes, long sleeves and insect repellent are recommended for working in brushy areas.

Come and help even if you can spare only a half-hour. Every volunteer’s efforts make a difference.

Call Alice Tempel, the Clean Communities Coordinator, at (908) 226-7621, or e-mail her at atempel@southplainfieldnj.com for more information.
