South Plainfield Adopt-a-Spotters Re-Up

As Adopt-A-Spot agreements reach the end of their terms, the South Plainfield Clean Communities Association steering committee reviews the status of each adoption. If all is well, the CCA invites the Sponsor to renew. In the first half of 2023, three of six invitees responded Yes. These community-minded groups were: The First Baptist Church of South Plainfield, whose Pastor and congregants maintain the entire length of Church Street as well as the section of Hamilton Boulevard between the church and the Bound Brook. The Jones Family, which picks up litter at Putnam Park. The Walezak Family, which looks after Cotton Street Park. Additionally, the Keystone Day Habilitation Program will be signing up again when they can complete the paperwork. Their clients clear litter from Front Street. Then there is the McCrisken-Gustafson Funeral Home, which sponsors not only litter control but the landscape maintenance of Monument Park. They refused to put an expiration date on their Adopt-A-Spot agreement, so they don’t get to renew and be appreciated for it every couple of years. The Borough is grateful to them for their steadfast care of this important municipal focal point. The SPCCA admires these citizens and organizations that are contributing their time and effort to keep South Plainfield a decent place to live and work.
