Voter Information

Voter Registration Form, Vote By Mail Form, and Change of Party Declaration Form .

The General Election and School Board Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The Primary Election will be Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Voting by mail is highly encouraged. Vote By Mail Applications can be found in the link below. The ballot drop-box for mail-in ballots is located at the back entrance of Borough Hall.

Anyone wishing to register to vote MUST:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be 18 years of age on or before the election day
  • Have resided in the county at least 30 days
  • Register at least 21 days prior to the election

You must re-register if:

  • You move from one county to another
  • You have a name change due to marriage, divorce or Judgement of the Court
  • Any change of address

 
Voter Registration Application Forms, Mail-In Ballot Applications are available in the Municipal Clerk's Office at 2480 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 or you may access forms online at www.southplainfieldnj.com or  www.NJElections.org.

Voter Registration Application forms must be completed and mailed to:

or received by the Municipal Clerk twenty-one (21) days before an election to be eligible to vote. 

The same form is used by voters who need to changed their name or address.

Ballot by Mail Application are required to be completed by those voters who wish to vote by mail-in ballot.  

Your polling place will be designated on your sample ballot, which if you are registered to vote in this election, should be received by mail approximately 5 days before the election. You can also check the Borough website for posting of the sample ballot when it becomes available.

Please contact the Municipal Clerk's Office if you or someone you know is interested in becoming a poll worker.  The current pay is $300.00 for the day.
