Matthew P. Anesh 


Elected Mayor in 2010, Matt is 42 years old and has lived in South Plainfield all his life. Mayor Anesh is married with twin sons.  He was elected Councilman in 2005 and 2009 where he served as the Council liaison to the Department of Public Works and later Public Safety. He served as Council President in 2010.  He attended Sacred Heart School, South Plainfield High School and graduated in 1995 from the College of New Jersey with a Bachelors of Science in Economics. He is a Vice President with a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company in NYC.

 Matt is a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a South Plainfield Junior Baseball coach, CERT member and a member of the Planning Board. Mayor Anesh served on the Public Celebrations Committee from 2005 through 2010. Mayor Anesh was inducted into the South Plainfield Hall of Fame in 2011.  He is a graduate of the South Plainfield High School class of 1990.



COUNCIL President 
Robert Bengivenga, Jr.   

  Rob is currently serving his 4th term as councilman and serves as Council President. First elected Councilman in 2005, Rob then had the honor of serving as Council President in 2008. He was then elected in 2009 to a second term and reelected in 2012 & 2015.  Rob is 33 years old and a life long resident of   South Plainfield.

  He attended   Sacred   Heart   School, The  Wardlaw   Hartridge   School   and graduated in 2004 from The University of Scranton with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing. He is presently employed by an Environmental company.

  Rob is a member of the Sons of the American Legion Chaumont Post 243, UNICO National and the Italian American Club in   South Plainfield

Council President Bengivenga chairs the Public Safety Committee and serves on the Administration, Finance, Public Information, Shared Services and Public Works Committees.




Christine Faustini

 Christine Faustini has been recently appointed to the South Plainfield Council to fill the unexpired term of Councilman Alex Barletta who resigned in September 2016.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1990 and received Teacher of Mathematics Certification from Kean University in 2003.

 Christine and her husband Louis have been married for 25 and they have four children Kaitlyn, Madison, Dominic and Ava.   They are lifelong residents of South Plainfield.

 Christine is currently employed as a home instructor for the South Plainfield School District.  She has served on the South Plainfield Library Board since 2011, and held the office of Vice President for the last 3 years.  She also served in the past on both the John E. Riley and Grant School PTO boards and she was a Cultural Arts Committee member in 2016.  








Robert “Bobby” Richkus

  Elected Councilman in 2013, he is serving his first term. Bobby is 42 years old and a life long resident of South Plainfield.

 Bobby attended Riley School, So. Plfd. Middle School, and graduated So. Plfd. High School. Some of the organizations he has volunteered time, been involved or participated with over the years include the So. Plfd. Soccer Club, So. Plfd. Roma Soccer Club, So. Plfd. Junior Baseball Club, The So. Plfd. Education Foundation, South Plainfield Alliance for Substance Awareness (SPASA), The Elks Lodge #2298, The Italian American Progressive League, the Knights of Columbus Lodge #6203, Our Lady of Czestochowa, and is a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He also served as an alternate to the Planning Board.

 He has been employed by the South Plainfield Board of Education in various capacities since 1992. He has served as a substitute teacher, full time History and Geography teacher, coach and an administrator. Currently he serves as the assistant principal at Grant School.

 Councilman Richkus Chairs the Recreation Committee and serves on the Office on Aging Advisory Board, Public Celebrations Committee, and the Youth Guidance Council.



Raymond Rusnak 


 Elected Councilman in 2007.  Now serving his 2nd term. Ray is 57 years old and has lived in South Plainfield since 1998. He currently serves as Council President. He has over 30 years of banking,investment and insurance experience.

 Councilman Rusnak chairs the Administration, Finance and Public Information Committee.  He also serves on the Public Safety and Public Works Committees.




Derryck C. White 

Council  Derryck White was first elected to the South Plainfield Council in 2011 and is now beginning his second, three-year term. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Eastern University and is currently a Sales Supervisor for a New Brunswick-based Fortune 200 company.

 He moved to South Plainfield from Edison in 2002 and he and his wife Lisa are parents to Jessica, Alexx and Noah. He is the former liaison to the South Plainfield Board of Education for the Riley School PTSO and a past chair of the school’s annual father-daughter dance. A former recreation soccer and basketball coach and currently coaches for the South Plainfield Soccer Association and South Plainfield Junior Baseball Club. In addition he is an active member of South Plainfield’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

 He chairs the Economic Development Committee and also serves on the Recreations Commission and the Health, Welfare and Environment Committee. In 2010, prior to being elected to the council, he was a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustments.



 Joseph C. Wolak




Joe Wolak was elected to council in 2015 for his first term. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Kean University in 1983 in Accounting and Computer Science and has completed Graduate work at Marywood University in Scranton PA.
Joe has worked in Healthcare Finance for over 30 years and is currently Director of Finance for a Behavioral Health Care Facility which is part of a local University. He has been a Planning Board member for the last four years, was a former South Plainfield Junior Baseball Coach and South Plainfield Recreation Soccer Coach. Joe is a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Joe was originally from Linden NJ and has lived on Norway lane for the last 18 years with his wife Stephanie, three children Jennifer, Katelyn, and Samuel. He has recently become a proud Grandfather to Ava Marie.
Joe will Chair the Recreation Committee and serve the Office on Aging Advisory Board, Public Celebrations Committee, and the Youth Guidance Council.
