In September, leaves start falling off the trees. Less pleasant litter has been falling from trucks, cars, pedestrians, trash cans, dumpsters and loading docks all summer. Leaves are good for the environment; litter is not.
The South Plainfield Clean Communities Advisory Board will sponsor a public lands cleanup on Saturday, September 30. We’ll get to the litter before the leaves cover it. We will hit as many sites as we can, depending on how many people join in.
The cleanup will run from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Gloves, trash bags, safety vests and other equipment will be provided. Volunteers can collect supplies at Borough Hall in the Building and Environment office from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
