PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CALL IN ADVANCE FOR AN APPOINTMENT.  ITEMS CANNOT BE PLACED BY CURBSIDE UNTIL 2 DAYS BEFORE THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT.

Bulk Waste Pick-ups are scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday from the 2nd week in April to the 2nd week in October.  During leaf bag collection starting the 2nd week in October to the 2nd week in December no bulk pick-ups are scheduled.  Winter months starting the 3rd week of December to 1st week in April will be reduced to one day a week dependent on the weather conditions. 

Residents may call the Public Works Department at 908-755-2187, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment.

All homeowners in the Borough are entitled to two (2) scheduled bulk pick-ups per year. (Apartment and Condominium/Townhouse Complexes are NOT INCLUDED in this program.)

I M P O R T A N T   I N F O R M A T I O N

The maximum pile size for one pick-up is 3’W x 3’H x 8’ L

If the pile size exceeds this limitation, it will count as more than one (1) pick-up and a fee maybe required.

Examples of ACCEPTABLE items for curbside bulk pick-up:

  • Furniture.
  • Tile (must be bagged, bundled or boxed).
  • Sheetrock (must be bagged, bundled or boxed, cannot exceed 40 lbs. per unit).
  • Carpeting (must be cut and rolled into 3’-4’pieces, tied and bundled).
  • Portable basketball Hoops (must be taken apart and the base must be emptied of any water or sand).
  • Wood fencing (must be broken down into 3’L x 3’W.  No concrete).
  • Wood pieces, framing, lumber, studs, boards, moldings, etc. (must be 3’-4’ in length, nails removed or hammered down and bundled when possible).
  • Mattress and/or Box Spring (must be encased in plastic and sealed shut).
  • Toilets, sinks, bathtubs.
  • Cabinets.
  • Appliances; Microwave, Stove/Range, Dishwasher, Washing Machine or Dryer (all large appliances, the doors must be removed prior to placing by curbside).
  • Lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. (gasoline and/or oil must be drained).
  • Garbage or recycling cans.
  • Exercise equipment.
  • Grills (no propane tanks).
  • Hot water heater.

PLEASE NOTE:  ALL ITEMS PLACE IN THE PILE WILL BE DISPOSED OF INCLUDING GARBAGE CANS, BINS, TARPS ETC.

Examples of UNACCEPTABLE items for curbside bulk pick-up:

  • Tires (See Middlesex County Recycling Program for disposal).
  • Oil/Grease.
  • Concrete, brick, asphalt, rocks, etc.
  • Paint (Middlesex County collects paint every 3 rd Saturday of each month from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Recycling Center on Kenneth Avenue contact 908-226-7620 with any questions).
  • Batteries.
  • Appliances containing freon such as window a/c units, refrigerators, freezers, water coolers etc. (dispocal at Recycling Center at 882 Kenneth Avenue).
  • Vehicle Parts.
  • Televisions (disposal at Recycling Center at 882 Kenneth Avenue).
  • Computers, monitor, laptop, keyboard, printers, scanners, fax machine, etc. (disposal at Recycling Center at 882 Kenneth Avenue).
  • Yard debris such as tree limps, stumps, leaves, grass clippings, etc. (disposal at Yard Waste pile, decal required at 882 Kenneth Avenue).
  • Medical supplies.
  • Recyclables (Cardboard, glass jars, water bottles, etc.) (disposal at Recycling Center located at 882 Kenneth Avenue).
  • Railroad ties.
  • Clothing. (Clothing drop boxes located at the Recycling Center at 882 Kenneth Avenue).
